Some of you might be curious that why is my blog in facebook website. That is because I am using a facebook fan page as my blog. The fan page is open to public, anybody can view. You still need an account to comment though.

Mr Prata

Kaya Roti Bomb
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD3.50
The exterior of this dish is actually crispy which I like and the kaya is evenly spread. Every mouth I eat has kaya in them. The sweetness of the kaya is just nice. As for the curry, I did not even touch since just the prata itself is good enough for me.

Boon Tong Kee

Foregroud: Century Egg With Sour Ginger
Background: Braised Peanuts
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD2.00 each excluding GST and Service Charge
This is the side dish provided. Nothing special about these dishes. I think it is taken from those canned food.

Barley
Rating: 5/5
Price: SGD2.00 excluding GST and Service Charge
The barley is good. Very thick and the sweetness is just nice. It is my kind of barley

Half Chicken
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD14.00 excluding GST and Service Charge
The chicken is the highlight for this place. The skin is smooth and nice, but not fatty. The sauce is not too salty and it blends in well with the meat. Somehow, I find something is missing, but I couldn't pinpoint it at the moment. If not, I would have rated it a perfect score.

Rice
Rating: 5/5
Price: SGD0.60 excluding GST and Service Charge
This is actually the oily rice that we have when we eat chicken rice. It is served in a pyramid shape which i feel it's nice since it stands out from the usual. The rice is not too oily. can just  few plates of this and top up with a serving of chicken to make it a meal.

Mui Choy With Stewed Pork
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD9.80 excluding GST and Service Charge
Personally I am not a fan of this dish because of the thick layer of fats on the pork. The pork is not too bad though. It is stewed till soft. The mui choy is not as salty as I expected it. So, overall this dish is still decent.

Poached Chinese Spinach With Assorted Egg
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD10.00 excluding GST and Service Charge
This dish cooked with 3 different eggs (normal egg, century egg and salted egg). The taste is good. The one thing that I dislike is that the spinach feels raw.

Crispy Beancurd
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD8.00 excluding GST and service charge
This dish has a relatively crispy skin with soft beancurd in it, so it gives a 2 layer texture when I eat it. The sauce that served with it is green in colour. It looks like wasabi, but it is actually just mayonnaise. I suspect the shop might have mixed it with pandan, or maybe just added colouring.

The Beef House

Braised Beef Rice with Egg
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD4.00
The beef is actually not bad. If you like spicy the chilli goes well with the beef. The egg is not the usual fried egg. It is fuyong egg, which I love it.

JE21 Seafood 海鲜煮炒

Medium Fried Rice
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD5.00
The fried rice is good. It looks relatively plain, but the taste is very nice. It looks oily but, it doesn't feel oily when I eat it.

Small Kailan with Fried Garlic
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD6.00
The kailan is decent. Because this dish is just a stir fry kind of dish without much seasoning, it doesn't have anything that stands out.

Small Tom Yum Soup
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD5.00
The tom yum quite a variety of ingredients in it (sliced fish, prawn, squid, pineapple, tofu, tomato). It is not too spicy for the stomach but still taste refreshing with the sour elements in it.

Delicious Boneless Chicken Rice

 Half Steamed Chicken
Rating: 4/5
Price:
 SGD13.00
The chicken is actually served cold. Some of you might not know that steamed chicken can be served as a cold dish. This is not very common in Singapore, so I am quite surprise to be able to eat it here. The skin is really smooth and the meat is tender. But the seasoning sauce is not absorbed into the meat, so the meat is quite bland. I have to scoop the sauce and manually eat the sauce together with the meat to get the best taste. There is one thing that I find it funny. The name of the shop says it is boneless, but when served, there are still bones in it.

Side Dish
 Rating: 3/5
Price: FREE
This side dish comes together when I order the chicken rice. The pineapple is quite sweet and refreshing.

Chicken Soup
Rating: 4/5
Price: FREE
This soup also comes together with the chicken rice. The soup base is filled with corn and chicken taste, decent and goes well with the chicken rice. I find it a little oily though

Crystal Chicken Feet
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD6.00
The chicken feet is average.

Ichiban Boshi

Mentai Potato Salad
 Rating: 4/5
Price SGD6.90 exlcuding GST and Service Charge
I like the salad chilled, so the taste doesn't feel so heavy on the taste buds. The sesame dressing is definitely a plus point to make the dish taste better and nicer fragrance.

Tori Kamameshi
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD11.90 excluding GST and Service Charge
The meat and vegetables in th this dish doesn't interest me. I like the rice of this dish. The seasoning for the rice is not too strong. The fragrance is left lingering in the mouth which makes me wanting to eat more of the rice.

Chasoba & Katsu Don Wazen
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD17.90 excluding GST and Service Charge
This set meal has both the cold green tea flavoured noodles and a mini chicken katsu rice bowl to go along with it, so I get to enjoy both in the same meal. The portion is quite a lot though, I felt the fullness even though I only ate the noodle, but because the rice bowl is not that huge, I still manage to finish it too. Of course, the set comes with  some sides (salmon sashimi, miso soup, tofu and oranges)

Casa Verde

Pizza Rustica (11")
 Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD23.00
The unique thing about this pizza is the sunny side egg on the centre of the pizza. The pizza is covered with tomato salsa, bacon and asparagus. The thin crust of the pizza is decent. The bacon is quite salty so it spoil the taste of the pizza by a little.

Potato Wedges
 Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD6.00
The portion is huge, good for sharing.

Marinara (Tomato Sauce)
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD18.00
There are quite a few ingredients in the dish (prawns, squid and crab meat). The tomato sauce is not too sour.

Apple & Olive Oil Cake
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD5.50
The taste is actually not too sweet. It had a pinch of apple and olive taste lingering in the mouth after eating.

Lavender & Honey Cake
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD5.00
The flavour is light and refreshing. It has a little lemon taste in it which makes it refreshing.

Apple Tart with Ice Cream
Rating: 3/5
Price: SGD6.50
The apple tarts has slices of apple, and the crust is not too hard or soft. But the taste is just average.
The ice cream is not really chilled and I feel it lack of substance. The ice cream taste foamy.

Marsala & Vanilla Ice Cream
Rating: 2/5
Price: SGD6.00
The ice cream taste foamy. The marsala taste is quite strong. I cannot appreciate the taste of marsala as a drink, so it is not really my kind of drink.

Elderflower Lemonade
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD5.50
This beverage is a fizzy drink so it is quite refreshing to drink. The elderflower makes the drink slightly minty, so it enhances the refreshing taste.

Silver Nasi Lemak
Rating: 4/5
Price: SGD3.50
The rice is basmati rice if I am not wrong. This give the rice very soft and fluffy taste. The ikan bilis is crispy and the egg is decently cooked. The chicken wing is decent too. I find the chilli sauce a little sweet.
